Settling into Paris Life. What a journey! Has it been easy? I would like to say Yes yet that wouldn't be entirely correct. Yes I am so happy to have moved to Paris. And Yes I love this city. But it is not without its challenges. What I have learned so far...okay on the positive side. Everyone has been amazing. When I speak as much French as possible, people are very kind and always give me a compliment how good my French is. The bread is absolutely fabulous. Just a side note. I have been on the French diet of bread, cheese, chocolate and coffee. I am doing the min 5 km a day of walking. Cause I have no car here. As a result I have lost a total of 8 kilos. Now that is a diet you can write a book about. lol Now back to my learning. So...the challenges. Trying to rent an apartment in Paris is only easy if you want to give away all of your life information and you have cash to hand over for one year's worth of rent. There are plenty of places. Yet the process completely stops you in your tracks. I have more than enough paper work. Yet I can't make my paperwork French paperwork and I am not about to give up a year's worth of rent in advance. So I have learned also through this process that French people seem to be caught in a process, surrounded by mistrust and have a leeriness to renting to Foreigners. And that is ok. I have accepted there is a process. Its just been a learning curve. So I have let go of the process. I have settled into my studio apartment. I decided to decorate and furnish the entire place in complete Frenchy style. So now that is complete. I feel I have arrived in Paris. My new home...for now. So I still required some space to use as an office. Somewhere I could be working in style. In a prestigious part of Paris. An opportunity to mix and meet locals. Submerge myself in Paris. So...voila! I have my new space. It is an Art Gallery which totally signifies Beauty. Which is what I am all about. I will be hosting two events a month where I will invite locals. I will be in my element. I am very grateful for everything that us unfolded. So here I am. My first day in my new office space in Paris. Surrounded by beautiful art. A short walk around the corner from the Eiffel Tower. On the border of the 15th and the 7th Arrondisement. C'est magnifique! My first private invitation is for Dec 5th in the evening and the second event will be an afternoon of "Gifting and Receiving" on Dec 15th. Please check out the December newsletter for more information. I am sending you much, much love this holiday season. Hold your family close. Give them extra hugs and kisses. Stay warm. Be Love. Much love and light from Paris Leona xox www.AwakenTheBeauty.com
